Presentation of the Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Beijing: 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations between China and Russia
On September 19, a grand opening ceremony was held on the famous Beijing Auction Street in the capital of China, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. This event represented a significant step in strengthening cultural and artistic ties between the two countries.

This year, China and Russia are celebrating an important milestone in their history—75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. As part of the agreements reached in May between the leaders of the two countries to hold the "Years of Culture of China and Russia" in 2024-2025, the All-Russian Public Organization "Committee for Support of Russian President’s Reforms" and the Russian-Chinese Center for Cultural and Educational Cooperation "New Time" initiated the painting and calligraphy exhibition. The goal of the event is not only to deepen cultural exchange but also to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples, supporting centuries-old traditions of good neighborliness.
The organization of the exhibition at a high level was supported by the Chinese Women's Artists Association and the Association of Collectors of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. The Artists Association of the Shunyi District in Beijing took on the responsibility of hosting the event. Additional support was provided by the Huazhong New Technology Development Fund for the Integration of Military and Civilian Products and other organizations, including the China Association for Promoting Corporate Culture and the China National Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
Prominent figures from the cultural and social sectors spoke at the opening ceremony. Among them were Pavel Viktorovich Mutorov, Deputy Chairman of the All-Russian Public Organization " Committee for Support of Russian President’s Reforms", Hong Hechang, a member of the Council of the Chinese Calligraphic Art Association, Kong Zi, Chairman of the Chinese Women's Artists Association, and others. They emphasized the importance of the traditional friendship between China and Russia and expressed their willingness to support this significant event.
A special highlight was the speech by 92-year-old Gu Jingmin, a representative of the first generation of state diplomatic officers of the People's Republic of China, who shared memories of key moments in the history of relations between the two countries. His words resonated warmly with the guests, strengthening the determination for the successful organization of the exhibition.
Also present at the ceremony were Yang Xiaojiang, former director of the National Committee for Rural Work Management, Li Ning, Chief Cultural Advisor of the All-Russian Public Organization, as well as renowned figures from the arts and culture sectors of China and Russia. The event was co-hosted by Cong Wei, a member of the China Artists Association and a Golden Microphone laureate from China Radio and Television, recognized as one of the top ten television hosts in the country.
